Abstract: Seen through a watercolour drawing made by the artist Israel Nicodemus Gormansen, this essay examines the intersecting themes of hunting caribou with seasonality. An activity undertaken during the summer months, Gormansen’s study draws attention not only to the narrative progression of the hunt, and the fashion of the hunters,  but also the mosquitoes that plagued them.
